University departments in the NSW PHC Consortium offer a variety of research training opportunities relevant to the needs of the stakeholders in their local region. Training opportunities are also available through state-wide activities conducted by the collaboration as a whole. Research mentoring and supervision: Academics are available within the NSW PHC Consortium to provide research mentoring and supervision for early to mid career level GP and primary health care researchers in NSW. To access mentoring and supervision for your research project, contact the Consortium university department in your local region, or contact the State Coordination Unit for advice on how to access expertise relevant to your area of study. NSW PHC offers support in obtaining grants, fellowships and scholarships; and opportunities such as the Department of Health and Ageing Researcher Development Program (RDP), all of which are available to support GPs and primary health care practitioners through their transition into research. These are currently all administered at the local level through the individual university departments in our state-wide Consortium. Contact your local NSW PHC Consortium university department for more information regarding the funding opportunities currently available in your local region. There are currently eleven GP and primary health care research networks NSW maintained by the seven NSW PHC Consortium university departments.
